The project at 1330 7th Street is a perfect example of how a Cambridge Architectural mesh Facade system can be used to meet a Building Re-use credit category. The project was part of a HUB zone upgrade to an existing apartment complex in Washington, DC. By incorporating a Cambridge Architectural mesh facade, re-work of the existing brick facade was kept to a minimum, allowing the majority of the existing facade to be re-used. Incorporating a metal fabric building tension system, as shown in this project, can lower the cost of re-working existing facade and window systems during building design upgrades. Because the material can be building tension mounted, the amount of added support needed for proper installation of an architectural mesh Facade system is significantly lower than traditional products such as architectural louvers, grilles, screens or metal panel facade systems.
