Arizona State University Taylor Place

Phoenix, Arizona | Façade Cladding

Metal fabric uniquely dresses the outer surface of the Taylor Place residence hall elevator shaft and the pedestrian bridges that link the two towers on every floor. On alternating floors, stainless steel mesh projections shade outdoor porch areas with lounge furniture. During the day, the mesh texturizes the building to create an urban flair. At night, interior light escapes through the open pattern to create a unique visual effect.

"Cambridge’s woven mesh, on its own, captures the eye. Once installed, we were really impressed with how its long expanses were seamlessly connected on various levels of the building to create a massive sunshade."
