Mesh provides multiple station functions for New York subway

Second Avenue Subway | Manhattan, New York | Station Screens and Infills

The Second Avenue Subway is the largest expansion of the city’s subway system in 50 years. As part of the Phase I Q Line extension, three new stations were constructed and an existing station was renovated and expanded. Metal mesh serves multiple uses in the stations including decorative cladding, entrance security and protection and handrail infills and platform barriers for fall protection. The security barriers in station corridors allow riders to view impressive public art featured in the stations.
