Vertical fins shade large glass windows at historic school library
Lincoln University Langston Hughes Memorial Library | Lower Oxford Township, Pennsylvania | Vertical Shade Fins
Dedicated to the famous poet and school alum, the memorial library houses 185,000 volumes featuring an extensive collection of materials representing all aspects of the Black experience from Africa to America. Vertical mesh fins accompany a new glass curtain wall installed on the façade as part of a sustainable building renovation. The fins provide adequate shading for the large glass windows, which still allow abundant natural sunlight to flow into the interior space.
