San Jose, California | Outdoor Canopy

Upgrades to the Class A office space were needed to enhance TAGA’s position in the competitive Silicon Valley real estate market. To promote gathering and employee group activities, an outdated common space was converted to an outdoor dining area. A draped metal mesh canopy provides shading and comfort for employees while offering connectivity to an indoor area separated by a 45-foot-long mechanical sliding glass wall.

"The draped metal mesh canopy provides a fun element to the outdoor dining area that casts soft shadows to assist in minimizing intense sunlight and glare. The segmented draping of the mesh creates a rhythm along the overall canopy profile that coincides with the structural articulation and curtain wall spacing found in adjacent building elements."
