University of Washington Medicine Building

Seattle, Washington | Vertical Façade Spans

Unique and modern vertical strips of mesh held in-tension shade interior areas and create multiple columns that add depth and character to the bioresearch center’s façade on the South Lake Union campus. The mesh provides a perfect visual complement to the center’s goal of developing new and innovative ideas. Utilizing the long spans of mesh ensures there are limited protrusions through the building’s curtain wall.

"We chose Cambridge mesh because, through energy analysis, we were able to prove that the metal fabric panels reduced the solar heat gain into the building on the east and south facades, lowering our cooling loads to the building."
