St. Armands Circle Garage

Sarasota, Florida | Decorative Parking Façade

The City of Sarasota’s 480-space garage serves St. Armands Circle’s fashionable shops and restaurants as well as Sarasota Memorial’s urgent care patients and staff. Located on St. Armands Key, the parking facility is bordered by luxury island and waterfront homes. The City, which requires mesh screening on all garages facing residential properties, sought a first-of-its-kind design worthy of the high profile address. After demonstrating a live mock-up at our headquarters, we wove a series of unique mesh panels. Each unit was given a twist in the field to create a spiraling effect. Outriggers set the panels off the building. The mesh breaks up the linear nature of the garage and dissipates light spillage. Additional parking screens held in-tension provide ventilation for the less visible areas of the structure.

"Everyone got onboard with Cambridge’s collaboration and their ability to pull off something no one had ever seen. The spirals provided a softness to the project. It was like jewelry that was integral to the success of the design."
